Culturefest La Brava is born, a cultural and entertainment festival that pays tribute to the Costa Brava.
From August 2 to 12, the towns of Calonge and Sant Antoni will host the first edition of Culturefest La Brava.
After months of organisation, Culturefest La Brava was finally presented at a press conference: the first festival dedicated to culture and entertainment that pays tribute to the Costa Brava. This festival, that’s been created with the intention of growing and consolidating itself, has been organised by the Town Halls of Calonge and Sant Antoni, together with the La Brava Beer company and with the support of the Provincial Council of Girona, Tourism Patronage of the Costa Brava, in order to leave its mark on the Costa Brava.
The festival is eager to entertain attendees with cultural and entertainment activities designed to help them learn more about the Costa Brava and its surrounding area, in addition to conveying values of respect for the territory. Those attending will find several different areas that include everything from music to food, workshops, exhibitions, live art, outdoor cinema, yoga, a kids area and a relaxation space created with recycled and non-polluting materials from where they can watch incredible sunsets from unique vantage points such as the Collet de Calonge monastery or Sant Antoni.
The goal is to have all different kinds of activities take place throughout the festival’s 11 days, in addition to welcoming many types of visitors. For the little ones, you can find an environmentally-friendly children’s area along with workshops that have been specially designed just for them, such as those on architecture or ceramics, or for adults there are other activities such as a small escape room inspired by the Costa Brava, classes by iogabeer with Brava Beer (a beer inspired by the Costa Brava), or the final stage of the Red Costa Brava contest dedicated to underwater videos from the Costa Brava, to name a few.
The musical part is supposed to be a surprise and therefore will not be revealed until just one month before the festival, on July 2nd. What we can say is that there will be two differentiated areas and that the main area will largely revolve around the Top 40 by the PRISA Group, while the more private space at the festival, called “La Brava Space”, will rely on Solar Sounds Events to provide the musical entertainment.
To make sure you receive all the latest news, we have created an informative website (www.culturefest.cat) and social media profiles on which you will soon be able to purchase advance tickets. More than 25,000 people are expected to pass through the festival as a result of the wide variety of activities that will be taking place. Attendees will also be informed of the many different recreational activities that they can participate in throughout the entire Costa Brava. And, of course, there will be spaces dedicated to food where you can explore the culinary side of the Costa Brava’s culture that is so highly-regarded both in the region itself and around the country.
Thanks to this festival, the cultural agenda of Girona and particularly the Costa Brava will be more than full for this summer season and those to come. There’s no doubt that it will leave its mark.
